Nails: Daiso Polish Haul
Simple Nail Design using Daiso Nail Products
(Produts Used: 2nd bottle from left & 1st bottle from right on the above pic)
I can't believe it!~ I went down to check out the Daiso store that opened recently in Sembawang Shopping Centre because I wanted to look for a box to hold the extra polish that my dear BF sent me from US. To my surprise, I saw ALOT of nail polish on display! Can you imagine $2 for a bottle of polish?! I was so excited! There are alot other nail products like nail art stickers, crystals, nail glue, fake nails etc available for sale in that amazing store. I was so tempted to get those nail art stickers and gems too but I managed to restrain myself by telling myself that store is really near to home. LOL.
I was so pleased with my haul that I did a simple nail design with them the moment I reached home. And my verdict is.......
THEY ARE REALLY PRETTY GOOD!!
Of course, if you were to compare them to OPI or China Glaze.. they are lacking but they are pretty decent nail polish. I especially love the two glitter nail polish with that extra long white cap. They are AWESOME and PRETTY and they came with STRIPER BRUSH!!!!!! What a deal.
Notice the four short bottles right in the middle? They are actually nail art enamel with striper brush!!!! I have been hunting for these stuff all over Singapore but to no avail. I can't believe I discover them in Daiso at only $2 each. Oh gosh, I must be in heaven or the good kharma I have been accumulating this week have paid off. LOL.
I have lots and lots of reviews and swatches to update so please please please stay tuned!~

Eyeliner: Revlon Colorstay Versus L'oreal Lineur Intense
Magical_Makeup's Verdict: Revlon Colorstay WINS
I absolutely love L'oreal Lineur Intense UNTIL I met the formidable Revlon Colorstay! I have been using the revlon liquid liner and nothing else ever since I found it. Why compare these two liners particularly? Well, that's because they are both FELT-TIP liners. Naturally, the quality of their respective felt tip is the deciding factor as to which one is better.
Here are reasons why I prefer Revlon to L'oreal:
- Revlon is cheaper. (Revlon costs $17.50 (U.P) while L'oreal costs $18.90 (U.P)) *Note: L'oreal Lineur Intense are available in our local drugstore but they are packaged differently from what I have as I got mine from ebay. Despite the difference in packaging, they are essentially the same thing.)
- Revlon contains more product. (Revlon: 2.5ml while L'oreal: 1.5ml)
- Revlon has a shorter and slimmer handle that I prefer as it gives me better grip and precision. The L'oreal's handle is a tad too long and too thick for my liking.
- Revlon has a STIFF felt tip while L'oreal has a FILMSY felt tip. Now it's pretty obvious why I like the Revlon liner so much right? The Revlon's tip is so stiff that it will not budge no matter how much pressure you apply on it! This is honestly a liquid liner that applies like a pencil liner. The L'oreal's tip is longer than that of Revlon and hence it will bend when you start to apply pressure.
- Revlon's tip picks up more products so I can line one eye with just one dip into the bottle. However, the same can't be said for the L'oreal one. I think the product dries a little too quickly on the felt tip and as such I have to dip 2-3 times into the bottle to line one eye. *I am not too sure if I got a defective l'oreal product but this is what I observed from my tube*
- Revlon has better staying power than L'oreal.
- Revlon is more waterproof than L'oreal. Well, I have tried crying with both liners. LOL. And personal experience tells me that Revlon is CRY-PROOF! LOL. The L'oreal liner didn't smudge after my bout of tears but rather it started dropping off flake by flake leaving behind white spots on my line. It's an awful sight. :X
Hmm, my conclusion is REVLON COLORSTAY ROCKS!! It's really my Holy Grail now. Do give it a try ladies and let me know your experience with it. ^^

Nails: China Glaze Swirl Art
I was browsing through China Glaze website and to my surprise, I came across their swirl art video! It looked like so much fun so I decided to give it a try and here's what I came up with. It's pretty cool right? I damaged the tip accidentally because my mum bumped into me and I lost my balance. :X Do check out http://www.nailsmag.com/NailsTV/?id=8B400160-861A-4C79-9657-8A5B7E89CBB6&CategoryID=1001 for the detailed steps for making your own swirl art.
You will need: a bowl filled with water, 4-6 shades of nail polish, a long & thin stick (I used a satay stick)
Here's a short summary of the steps to achieve the swirl art shown above.
- Paint my nails with a white coat of polish (I wanted the swirl art to pop)
- Uncap all the nail polish you intend to use (i used China Glaze Artelier Tulle, Tinsel, Shower Together, Rodeo Fanatic and Spontaneous)
- Drip 1 drop of the first nail colour in the bowl of water and wait for the polish to spread
- Quickly drop the 2nd drop of the next nail colour into the center of the first drop
- Follow QUICKLY with the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th drops using whichever colour you prefer. (the number of drops/colours used are entirely subjective)
- Once the colours have been arranged to your liking, use the satay stick to create patterns by dragging it through the circular nail colours (Do refer to the video in the link)
- Place your finger into the patterns and remove the excess polish with the satay stick
We are more or less done. :) Just some tips though:
- Do make sure you drip those drops of nail polish into the bowl of water at a height of about half an inch above the water level. This is to ensure that the drop of polish have enough gravity to spread.
- I tried doing the swirl art on my real nails and the nail colour ended up sticking on my fingers as well. I had to use some nail polish remover to clean those stains off. I am fine with the extra step but for those who find this a hassle, I would recommend using fake nails instead (as shown in the picture).
Anyway, this is really really fun and since we have a long weekend why don't you ladies give this a try!~ :)

Nails: Various Nail Polish Swatches!!
PS: I was so excited that I basically just threw whatever swatches I have into this entry without the least bit of organising. LOL. I promise to be more organised after this entry ya? *blush*
China Glaze Mom's Chiffon (Immaterial Gurl Collection)
China Glaze Strawberry Fields (Summer Collection)
This Collection ROCKS!~ I have a couple of the other colours from this collection which I have swatched but didn't have the time to take photos. So I will actually post another entry later to show you ladies how beautiful this collection is!~ This entire collection featured the FAMOUS China Glaze glass fleck shimmer and I simply canno gush enough about it. These shimmers are just so freaking pretty! These glass fleck shimmers are rather fine and they are much more interesting looking than normal glitters. Just look at how the my pink nails reflect golden sparkle!~ Ain't it cool?
Candy Cane Nail Art using Sally Hansen French Manicure White Polish
I wanted to try out the Sally Hansen French Manicure Polish (with precise brush tip) which I purchased during the Watsons 20% sale so I added horizontal stripes to China Glaze Strawberry Fields to create a candy cane look even though Christmas is still eons away.
MAC Love & Friendship (A Rose Romance)
PRETTY!~ That's all I can say. And to the BF: "I LOVE YOU!!!" Dear dependable BF went down to MAC to buy this nail lacquer for me even though I said I think I will give this collection a miss. I really ought to thank god for blessing me with such a sweet BF! This colour looks great as in GREAT on my fingers! Honestly. Love & Friendship is a dirty lavender which is very muted and very wearable.
I must admit though, the consistency is a little too thick so application can be a little painful. But for the beautiful colour, I am willing to endure the painful process. LOL. It's afterall no PAIN no GAIN. Haha.

Nails: OPI Mod About Brights Collection
I don't have all of the colours but the couple of colours which I collected tell me that this is a fabulous collection. I am not just referring to the bright colours (which I can't resist), I am actually talking about the texture of the polishes. The polishes go on very smoothly and they are jelly-like looking? Because of its jelly-like texture, the polishes appear very glossy. The colours are also really opaque. I only had enough time for 1 swatch so I will be back with the rest real soon. :P

Nails: OPI Retro Fun in The Sun Collection
OPI Calendar Girl
OPI Give Me A Coral Sometime
OPI Sit Under the Apple Tree
OPI Peach-A-Boo
OPI Lemonade Stand By Your Man
OPI Sea Ya Later, Sailor
- They are amazingly interesting and fun! They all contain really fine shimmers in them. Sea Ya Later, Sailor is, in my opinion, the most interesting of the lot. *I admit I may be biased here because I am developing this really strong attachment to any polishes that are blue :X* SYL,S contains this bright blue shimmers that reflect pink or purple under different angle. Honestly, I don't know how to describe the colour and the picture I tried very hard to take did not do the polish justice so I can only conclude that you have to buy it to see what I mean. LOL.
- They have variety in colours. Some collections either contain too many reds or too many pinks in the same collection. However, you actually get 6 different colours out of the 6 polishes available in this collection. Isn't that great? There're a blue, a green, a yellow, a red, a peach, a coral and a red.
- The polishes are generally all pretty sheer on application. So to use it on its own, I would advise at least 3 coats if you want to cover up the white tips of your nails. I feel that these babies will be great as layering polishes.
- They are very easy to apply as the polishes are pretty thin. They're also very easy to remove.

Bad weather.. sick..
My dear sister borrowed my camera for the day so I can't take pictures of those lovely polishes but I will be back to post some pictures once I have my camera back. Thanks for putting up with my nonsensical ranting haha.

Nails: China Glaze For Audrey (Tiffany Inspired Colour) <3
Look at how pretty For Audrey is!! It's really very very close to the tiffany colour isn't it? I love it. I actually only need ONE coat to get the colour very opaque. It's great stuff! I really highly recommend everyone out there to get at least one bottle of this if not a backup at least as China Glaze has the habit of discontinuing nail colours!
You ladies can order this from a lovely lady on her website http://nailsloveopi.com/ Do support her! I have tried out her service and it's great. A very honest and sincere seller so you don't have to worry about the authencity of the goods. :)

Nails: Hot Pink Nails with Zebra Print Tips
With Top Coat
I was browsing through Youtube and I came across this makeup guru Julieg713. She's a nail genius honestly. This was a replica of her idea so credits belong to her. I basically just recreate it. It's my first time I did everything free hand so I know it's pretty messy but I had a good practise~ :)
I used OPI That's Hot! Pink with Revlon new shade Black Lingerie and Silky Girl every Glossy White nail polish to achieve this look. Do search for Julieg713 on youtube to check out her tutorial, it's superb but here's the basic steps.
- Put on base coat. (I use Orly Ridgefiller Primer Basecoat)
- Put on hot pink nail polish (Or any color you desire)
- Wait for pink lacquer to dry alittle (approx 5 min)
- Paint on black nail polish along the tips like French Manicure (Make the black tip broad :))
- Wait for black polish to dry (approx 3-5 min)
- Using a striper brush or eyeliner brush randomly paint on the white stripes on the black polish to make the tip resemble zebra prints :)
- Wait for the lacquer to dry then apply top coat. :)

Nails: OPI Kreme de la Kremlin
Very pretty neutral colour that can be worn every day. It's a brownish-mauvish red? LOL. It's very muted I must say and it came with the famous OPI prowide brush which makes it very easy on application.
The Prowide brush is really very dense so it picks up the enamel very very well. But I don't really love it but that's because I have a problem. LOL. I have very narrow nails so the prowide brush usually end up brushing against the flesh at the sides of my nails. :( I had a had tie trying to clean 'em up. But being OPI, it's great stuff. It dries up very evenly. Colour is very pigmented and I got really opaque nails with just one coat. It's really hard to go wrong with OPI.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Ladies, please do check out this awesome ebay seller store http://stores.ebay.com.sg/All-NailsLoveOPI-Beauty-Shoppe I got a couple of China Glaze and OPI nail polishes from her and I tell you her service is great. She's very reliable and she has such a wide variety to choose from!~ I am not related to her so I am recommending her store because I am genuinely happy with her service so go check her store out. ^^ I will post up some pictures of my nail polish haul soon :)

Stila Haul: Winter Wonderland Noire and Blanc Set
Noire Palette
Guess what? These babies just retail at beautycrunch.com at USD 12 per set? Can you imagine? It's just freaking cheap. But anyway I got these from a very nice online shop called thechicshop. You can check out the online shop at http://thechicshop.wordpress.com
They retail at $45 per set. Great service. My BF got these for me as my monthly anniversary gifts. :X
Nails: OPI Heart Throb Nail Polish
^^ My first OPI!~ It's called Heart Throb!~ LOL. My BF gave it to me because he said he wanted my heart to throb! Hahaha! He said he really likes the name of this and he got it for me. It's a very fitting name in my opinion. LOL. It's a very sweet, soft pink and it made me think of a bride. I think this is a great colour for brides/bridemaids on a wedding day! The colour is very subtle so I think it's great for everyday wear especially on a weekday. Also, it has a cream finish with just a little shine. Very pretty.
Being OPI, naturally the quality of the nail polish is great. Application was very smooth and the brush from the bottle is fantastic! It made application really easy!~ I really like the fact that the colour on my nail turned out to be the same as that in the bottle. Some nail polishes look really good in the bottle but the colour turned out differently on the nails. :X
However, the nail colour tend to be a little sheer. I had to apply three coat of polishes before the colour turn opaque enough to colour the white tip of my nails. I didn't really mind though because the polishes are pretty much fast drying so the extra coats didn't really bother me much.

Nails: Orly Base & Top Coat/ Sephora Passio Nail Polish
I really have the sweetest boyfriend in the world!~ I went to Sasa located in Chua Chu Kang Lot 1 shopping centre with my boyfriend yesterday because I wanted to check out some fake lashes designs. And I actually spotted some Orly products on display!~ I was so excited!~ I didn't know that Sasa actually carries Orly products!
I dragged on BF to the rack and here's roughly what happened..
Me: "Eee no nail polish, they only bring in nail care products.."
BF: "Then you still look?"
Me: *ignore the BF's comment and continue browsing and spotted the ridgefiller base coat* "I should really try out some ridgefiller base coat man!~ The stupid rigdes on my nails make my nail polish looks uneven~"
Me: *spotted fast dry top coat* "OMG, they have fast dry top coat too!~ I hate to wait for my nail polish to dry loh.. don't know if it really works.."
BF: *just kept quiet*
Me: "Aiya, they are so expensive, I stick to my Sephora ones first. let's go!"
I went to the washroom after that and when I came out, my grinning BF presented me with a Sasa bag with the Orly Ridgefiller Base Coat & "In a Snap" Fast Drying Topcoat!~ I was so shocked!~ He was so sweet!~
Anyway, I only tried the products once so I don't want to review it yet. After I used it a couple of times, I will post a review entry ^^ By the way, the Orly products cost $11.90 each at Sasa. And Sasa is having this promotion which gives you a $3 cash rebate when you spend $30 in a single receipt. :P
By the way, I finally tried the Sephora nail polish in Passion!~ Here's a picture of it.
Sephora Nail Polish in Passion
It's absolutely gorgeous!~ It looks apricot in the bottle but turned out to be an orange-red. Very bright and cheery!~ I got a few compliments when I wore it out. The formulas used for these Sephora nail polishes are pretty consistent, I must say. Very good consistency and smooth upon application. Good stuff~

MAC Haul: Mini Eyeshadow Haul :X
LOL. I hauled but well they didn't cost me so at least I wouldn't feel the pinch ^^
Here's the name of the MAC e/s that I "purchased"
Vanilla : A great highlight colour! It's pretty close to my skintone so this serve very well as a blending colour to blend out any harsh line formed by very dark colours like black, dark burgundy when I do smokey eyes. :P
Knight Divine : Love this! It will be fantastic for a basic smokey eyes. I have been looking for a nice dark silver with a little shimmers and I think I found it. ^^
Shale : Woot~ A gorgeous silvery purple. Very very pretty. I have been eyeing this for a uber long time~ Finally got my hands on it! Lucky it's available in pan form so it costs $21 instead of $26. :X Thank you cousin "feng" for the lovely gift :)
Sketch : LOL i got this to pair it with Shale. Don't you ladies think that they are a match made in heaven? :X I think sketch can pretty much be matched with many different colours. So it's gg to be versatile. ^^
Alright, total damage made $21!~ So proud of myself! I exchanged both Vanilla and Knight Divine in Tangs using my rebates~ My parents bought an oven for my cousin's housewarming and I got the rebates during 12%~~ *3 cheers* so I got the 2 e/s pots FOC!! So excited!~ Can't wait to put these gorgeous e/s to use!~
PS: I re-created the eyedo I did on my friend on saturday but my sister borrowed my camera!~ So I couldn't capture my EOTD for that day! *sob* I guess I will have to do it again. :X

My First Makeover Attempt!
It actually turned out really well! I was honestly amazed at myself (sorry I really didn't mean to cound conceited or anything) but I was really surprised I could pull it off. I am really passionate about makeup but I didn't know I actually have the ability to help transform other people. It's an amazing feeling. I am very happy that she felt pretty and dolly with her new look. I wanted to take a picture of her eyedo but it skipped our minds. :X
Well, I will do an EOTD with the same colours and publish a post soon^^
EOTD: Simple Bronze Smokey Look
- NYX Pearl Mania in Mink
- MAC Matte Light Brown Eyeshadow in Wedge (optional) * I used brown e/s underneath the back shawdow because I wanted to soften the intensity of the black shadow. This step is entirely optional ^^ *
- MAC Matte Black e/s in Print (Any matte black eyeshadow will do)
- Coastal Scents 88 Palette R1C1 e/s (Any matte white or off white e/s will do)
- Loreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Black Mica
- MAC Engraved Powerpoint Pencil (Any black pencil liner)
- Bourjois Waterproof Mascara in Black party (Any mascara of your choice ^^)
- Stila Eyeshadow Moouse in Ice (Any white shimmery/non-shimmery e/s or eyeliner pencil)
- Urban Decay Primer Potion (Any eye primer will do :P)
Steps:
- Prime lids with UDPP
- Pour some NYX Mink Pearl on a mixing dish (any plastic surface for eg blank CD, or a cut up plastic cup or a bottle cap)
- Mix in a little glycerine water like Watson 360 degree facial spray, moisturiser or even water
- Mix well then apply the mixture onto the entire eyelid with any flat shader brush like MAC 242 or MAC 239 (I would recommend a synthetic brush for wet application so MAC 242 will be preferred)
- Using a blending brush like MAC 224 or 217, soften the edge of the wet e/s
- (Optional) Using the same blending brush, blend in MAC wedge e/s on the entire crease just above the NYX e/s
- Apply MAC Print e/s (or any matte black e/s) on the crease. MAC Print e/s should stack on top of the MAC brown e/s in Wedge
- Blend well
- Apply highlight using CS 88 palette R1C1 e/s
- Line upper lashline with Loreal Lineur Intense Liquid Liner in Black Mica
- Curl lash and apply mascara of your choice
- Line lower lashline and waterline with MAC Engraved powerpoint (any black pencil liner)
- Apply Stila Eyeshadow Moouse in Ice (White shadow or eyeliner) on the inner lashline and tear duct
We are done! ^^
Anyway, I just want to make a tiny recommendation here. Ladies, do check out this new Loreal Liquid Eyeliner! I bought mine from ebay for $15 but I noticed that our local drugstore like Watson and guardian carry a liquid liner that's almost the same as the one I bought from ebay! The cost $18 odd each.
